About Alex Mathiowetz

Alex has always been a "numbers person." But his love for numbers goes far beyond math — he's more interested in the meaning behind them.

Alex joined John A. Knutson & Co., PLLP in November 2020. As a Manager, he helps clients overcome challenges by understanding the stories told by their numbers, across corporate, individual, and partnership tax and tax planning. He appreciates that JAK's team-centered culture allows him to collaborate with coworkers to provide solutions — and most of all, he enjoys the camaraderie.

He earned his Master of Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota in 2025, adding to his CPA (2021).
